N.B. The majority of mock interviews are designed for entry to Oxford and Cambridge. However, some universities e.g. Imperial, Edinburgh, and UCL also utilise similar interview formats for some courses.

Example Mock Interview Day 2
Emma is applying for English Literature at Cambridge.
Interview One: With Sarah, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English Literature at Cambridge following an undergraduate at the University. Sarah conducts a literature interview that focuses on fundamental literary concepts, analysis, and critical thinking. She asks Emma to analyse a passage from a classic English novel and discuss its themes and literary devices.
Interview Two: With Michael, who completed his undergraduate degree in English Literature at Cambridge, graduating with a 1st Class degree. Michael's interview includes a mix of theoretical questions and close reading exercises that require Emma to analyse literary texts. He asks Emma to discuss the representation of gender roles in a Shakespearean play of her choice.
Group Interview: With Laura, another English literature graduate and Academic Scholar at Cambridge. Laura presents Emma and a group of other applicants with challenging, unseen literary excerpts or critical essays, evaluating their ability to think critically and engage with new material. She may provide a research paper or a complex literary analysis, asking Emma, along with the other applicants, to discuss their interpretations and insights. This group format encourages peer interaction and collaborative literary analysis.

Daniel is applying for Computer Science at Oxford.
Interview One: With Emily, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Cambridge, following an undergraduate in Computer Science at Oxford. Emily conducts a technical interview that focuses on fundamental computer science concepts, algorithms, and problem-solving. She might ask Daniel to solve coding problems related to data structures or algorithms commonly taught in introductory computer science courses.
Interview Two: With Alex, who completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Oxford, where he undertook prize-winning research for his dissertation. Alex's interview includes a mix of theoretical questions, such as algorithmic complexity analysis or computational theory, and practical problem-solving questions that require Daniel to write code or explain the logic behind an algorithm.
